Lao Tsu, a Chinese philosopher defined the quality as the “excellence you cannot reach but which you must persistently strive for.

Striving for the quality is like a high jump. For many years, our Consumers have been putting the crossbar of excellence at higher and higher levels, which every time we used to jump over. We make ourselves prepared, perfect to each jump, we become better and better because so much want it to be successful. This is the only way since for gaining an even deeper confidence of our Consumers. This is why we get our plants modernized, implement new management systems and new technologies, and build a professional team. Doing so, we care of the safety and good work conditions of our employees, as well as of the clean condition of the environment.

For many years, two superior values have been shining to our activities – top quality of all products we manufacture as well as care of our Consumers.

Our frozen food is manufactured in the plants in Ryki and Skierniewice (Polski Ogród Sp. z o. o. being a member of Hortex Holding S.A.), while juices, nectars and drinks - in Przysucha near Radom. All three plants produce also concentrated fruit juices forming the third group of the products we manufacture, called industrial products.

We have implemented modern management systems in the Hortex plants:

  • Quality management system pursuant to ISO 9001:2000 enables to keep the quality of the products and improve all processes carried out in the company related to the production and supply of the products.
  • Thanks to the system ISO 14001 implemented, we run our production with no risk to the environment.
  • HACCP system – lets us identify health risks for the potential Consumers from a product and then eliminate or reduce them to the safe level. These actions are carried out in all stages of the manufacture and supply to the Consumer processes. Thanks to this system our products are safe.
  • GMP and GHP – examination of materials and raw materials, identification systems of products, materials and raw materials, modern infrastructure, manufacture area hygiene, hygiene of the workers, anti-pest protection of the plant, modern technological lines and labs.

Thanks to the GMP, GHP and HAACCP systems our products are free from any chemical or physical pollution as well as from any pathogenic microorganisms.

  • OHSAS 18001 – health and safety at work management system

All aforementioned systems and production processes have been integrated into one management system and our plants hold certificates of the certifying body, DNV (Det Norske Veritas) confirming that these systems have been implemented and do operate.

All our products are natural, which means we do not add any preservatives. Technologies applied in our plants allow obtaining such products, the life of which does not need to be extended by adding any chemicals. In our plants:

  • Juices, nectars and drinks – we put them through the thermal pasteurization or sterilization and then – in aseptic conditions – pour into cardboard boxes being a safe barrier against the air and microorganisms contained therein.
  • Frozen fruits – we wash them and put through the deep-freezing process in the temperature below -18°C,
  • Frozen vegetables – we wash, blanche, and deeply freeze them in the temperature below -18°C. They are then stored in the temperature -23-28°C.

Hortex Holding SA is a member of several associations of food producers:

  • Frozen Food Producers Association.

The most important goals of the system are:
